Plan Ahead plus Remember The Fallen

memorial-dayMonday is Memorial Day in the USA.

Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday which occurs every year on the final Monday of May. Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

It’s also a time to relax and get together with family and friends and enjoy the day. Get out the grill and have cookout. Take the time to reflect and relax.

When that’s over, it’s time to make your summer plans! I’m sure most of you do that when you plan a vacation, but do you do it with your online business?

Why is it that we take more time to plan for a week of vacation then we plan all year in our business? It’s true tho, I remember when we took a trip to Hawaii. I planned it a year in whalewatching4advance. Had lists made and dates about what needed done and when. It all went as planned and we had a wonderful time.

Most of us tho, with our online business will,  maybe plan a week in advance. We don’t have the year or even the summer planned out. It’s time to make it a priority and quit flying by the seat of your pants. Plan for success, and plan for the long-term.

Jonathon Winters was a great comedian who passed away this past April at 87 years old. His success lasted a lifetime, but he didn’t wait for it.
I love the quote above because it tells you that even tho you may need patience to succeefforted, don’t wait for it. Success can be the process, not just the goal.  Keep working toward it and let it catch up to you!

I Have a Passion For Cheaters… Not!

Warning-signThis is a problem that continues in the online  marketing industry, and  traffic exchanges are not exempt.  It’s a daily task for owners to keep their exchanges clean.

Learning to spot cheaters is a task in itself. A good traffic exchange owner should make this  a top priority to help keep quality hits flowing for the member’s websites. It is critical when providing good service at your traffic exchange.

I am finding a post about traffic exchange cheaters a bit boring and short for a blog post, so I will go into a little subject of my own.

Cathy of HotFlashHits recently wrote a post on “Marketing Your Passion”

I think this is a wonderful subject!

On Friday evenings with James Dias, we see his passion for traffic exchanges. It is obvious the way he markets IT and the other Dias Media Sites. It’s as clear as the Mt. Dew he thinks he hiding behind his computer screen… lol

I believe this is a key component for being successful online, or in life in general.  If you own a traffic exchange because you thought it was going to make you successful. You are wrong!

Unless of course you have that passion that drives you to get up in the morning and check sites, look for cheaters, keep your members happy, market your exchange, surf to inspect your site, network with other owners, just to keep up with the industry, deal with the drama that sometimes happen and the list goes on.  Whew, it’s hard work!

Hard work requires passion to sustain it…Nothing can be sustained without passion!

share-your-passionSometimes passion makes us go beyond what we want to do, but it’s part of the road to reaching our goals. Sometimes others will not understand your passion, and that’s ok too.  We each have different goals.

If you have passion for your traffic exchange, you will know it. If you don’t, your exchange will show it.

It’s an age old TE question that many still debate.  Typical responses within this discussion…are those that use them and know they work,  and those that don’t and swear them off.

I think what we learn from this is one thing. ATTITUDE!

Anything you have a negative attitude toward is NOT going to work for you. If you are unwilling to learn how to use them, then again, they are NOT going to work for you!

There are all kinds of advertising on the net… Find what you enjoy and learn how to work it.

It’s Simple Really! …Traffic Exchanges work for those that learn how to use them and will commit to using them correctly.

Tonight at Wrap-up, James will be showing some Ads that are NOT effective.  This will be a valuable lesson to those of us that use traffic exchanges in our business.

We are also working on ways to bring more people into the exchanges thru other forms of advertising. James did the most awesome video for IT, that he posted on YouTube.

PayPal Payment Failed …Not again!

Sometimes we need to re-access our budget as it changes from time to time.

Going thru our paypal or payza subscriptions should be  another  task on our schedule of business to-dos. For most of us, it is put on the back burner and we will get to it later.

How does the look of your traffic exchange affect your results?

Is it Crazy? Sexy? Attention Grabbing?

 

As a surfer, do you choose an exchange from the design first?

Our society is very looks oriented. Looks are not everything, but we have to admit, that it is what draws us in first.

When we were young, looks were everything. We wanted to look good and we fell in love with looks.  Ok I did! But you see what I mean. We waited to get to know someone after we got their attention. couple

As we get older, we realize it’s not all about looks. It’s the value of whats inside.

But marketing is like young love. You are drawn to a great design, so it is important not to leave the details by the way-side. Take a second look at your site and see if it’s missing anything. Would you fall in-love with your site from first look? Would making an improvement make sense?

If you think of it this way, you will spend less on advertising, if someone is naturally drawn to your site.

Here are a few things to look for:

1. Design – How does it catch your attention? Is it up-to-date? Ask others for their honest opinions too.
2. Branding – Do you have a image or braTESS-logond that is recognizable, located on your site? IT125AOTlogo.png

3. Sales Page – Is the sales page your own? And does the content get your attention?
4. Navagation – Is it easy enough for a fifth grader? lol It should be!

5. Contact – Do you have a contact button available on the Home page?
That may not make it a crazy, sexy traffic exchange, but it will affect your results.

I had an issue this week with a site that did not have a way to contact them on the home page. Had I not been able to find the owner, I would have just gave up on the site itself. This could cost you members.  If the member has an issue and is not unable to log-in, there must be a contact button on the home page to contact you!

Even if you don’t have a crazy, sexy, traffic exchange design, it is critical that you take time to evaluate what yours says to your customer at first glance!

Ok, this was just a take on the subject of tonight’s wrap-up… We regularly see lifetime membership being offered at many different advertising sites, including traffic exchanges, safelist, etc.  What does lifetime mean anyhow? Life of the site, the owner, or just whenever they decide to take it away from you? Does it go away when the site changes hands? This has happened to me, so I guess it depends who it is sold to.

Not to say they are always a bad thing, but like anything else you need to evaluate the owner, age of the site, what you are getting for the price, and how often are you planning on using it. In other words, do your research, just don’t jump on any lifetime offer.

Another thing you will want to look at, is how many are they selling or is it for a limited time. If you see the same lifetime offer at any one site for a long period of time, it may not be worth it. Selling to many lifetimes, can mean the difference between an active site and an inactive site.

I am sure James has much to say on this subject and we would love to hear your opinions too!  He will also be talking about the coming of the industries slow season…Summer!summer.reading

Have You Spring Cleaned Your Website?

SPRING-CLEANINGIt’s that time again!…Spring was on  Wednesday, March 20, so it’s time to be thinking of cleaning… Not just your house or garage, but also your website.

Yes, we need to take the time to visually look at all the pages, ads, members, SEO, etc to see what needs updating, removed, or just plain freshen it up. Computer-cleaning-tips

We need to think about how the members, new and old, see our site. Is it visually appealing?
Is it easy to navigate? Would new eyes understand what the site is about. Is your design out-of-date? What would make your site stand out.

Being a Traffic Exchange owner and surfer, we tend to forget about the new people. How easy is your site to understand. Does your site take them by the hand and navigate them thru it easily?

A good idea would to take a piece of paper and go thru each page and make a list of things to update.  Some ideas to look at would be:

  • Sales Page
  • Sign-up Form
  • Old Ads/Contests etc
  • Downlinebuilder
  • Contact Info
  • Member Accounts
  • F&Q
  • Terms of Service
  • Testimonials (update)
  • Your Photo( update)
  • SEO (content and keywords)

And most importantly…have you did a recent backup of your site. This should be done on a regular basis.

“Spring Cleaning”

It’s that time of year again when the longer days and the warmth of the bright sunshine brings with it a renewed sense of hope and rebirth of life to many things.

Many are filled with a sense of renewed strength and a time to reinvigorate efforts that you began at the beginning of the year.

It’s not only a perfect time of the year to check in with those New Years resolutions but also a time to let go of some baggage that serves no purpose in your life.

Let’s do some spring cleaning on some of that negativity that seems to be hanging around you and slowing down your progress.

Take some quiet time and think deeply of the negativity that exists in your life at the moment. Think of those things whether they’re thoughts, situations or actions that exist in your life that serve no positive purpose.

Write down on a piece of paper each one that comes to mind…Examine each item that you wrote down and understand the negative impact that it has on your life. Now make a commitment to yourself to cleanse yourself of these negative things in your life.

Now in an act of symbolism, take that paper of negativity and crumble it up and throw it away and let all of your negative habits go with it.

Will it be difficult at first to keep that negativity out of your life? Yes

Will you have to work hard to maintain your commitment everyday? Yes

Will you and your family benefit from the release of all that negative energy from your life? Yes
